Little visible dents due to age.  Victorian-era spirit kettle and stand, which historically served as a centerpiece for social gatherings and traveling from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. (Circa 1880's - 1910's)

During the Victorian and Edwardian eras, tea consumption shifted from an elite luxury to an everyday staple across Europe.

Rather than making tea in the kitchen and letting it grow cold, wealthy families used these "Spirit Furnaces" or "Lamp kettles" directly in the parlor or dining room. The host could brew, refill or keep the tea perfectly hot in front of guests.
