A vintage, quality estate pipe in the straight billiard shape by renowned French pipe makers Chacom. Stamped "Chacom Noblesse" and "Made in France" to the shank with the Chacom logo to the mouthpiece. Has a removeable "stinger", which is a condensing element of metal placed in the airway. Hot tobacco smoke passes through it, and the cooler condenser is supposed to draw (condense) the moisture on to it, and filter some heavier floating particulates from the air stream. The bowl and shank are in good condition with some damage to the mouthpiece tip. The pipe remains smokable but would look great with a new mouthpiece. Cleaned and sanitized. Kindly view images above for more detail.
Chapuis-Comoy is the French company that creates and sells Chacom pipes worldwide. Set up in Villard-Saint-Sauveur, a village neighboring Saint-Claude (the world capital city of briar-wood pipes), it is one of the largest French pipe brands. Chacom pipes stand out thanks to their mix of tradition, creation and innovation. Chacom's products are the result of 200 years old know-how.
I have on auction a large estate lifelong collection of quality tobacco smoking pipes dating from the 1950's to 1980's. Apart from 3 or 4 of them (faults mentioned specifically) the condition is good to very good. The collection has clearly been well-maintained and lovingly cared for.
Length : 15cm
