Vintage Chinese Art Wall Hanging Coral & Jade Floral Carving in Black Lacquer Shadow Box
A Vintage Chinese 3-D carved stone, coral, soapstone or faux jade artwork on a gold background in black lacquer frame. There is an orange brocade fabric surrounding the artwork on the inside of the frame. The picture is an oriental scene made of carved soapstone and, presumably, semi-precious stones. Obviously, I am not sure of the material nor what the meaning is of the writing.
The backside is well sealed, but shows signs of wear. The age is probably mid-1900's. This may have been a souvenir from a trip to the Orient. The item is in very good condition.
This beautiful piece of art is in very good pre-owned condition. The glass is intact. The original ornate brass hangar is in place.
Adds excellent Oriental accent to any room. Dimensions are: 42cm wide x +-25cm high x 2.5cm deep.
