A vintage Chinese Jian sword used for training or martial arts exhibitions such as taiji, wuhsu, kungfu etc. Appears to have the hand-hammered brass pommel, guard and scabbard fittings as opposed to the later inferior cast brass fittings. Also has the thicker, less flexible training blade. The blade is inscribed with a traditional dragon to one side and Chinese lettering to the other. Dates from early to mid 20th Century. Overall condition is good with some tarnishing to the blade. Please note that there is some wood veneer wear to the edges of the scabbard. The sword inserts and withdraws smoothly. Kindly view images above for more detail.
Length (sword) : 97cm
Length (blade) : 75.5cm
Length (in scabbard) : 100cm
