The Laughing Buddha is the patron and protector of children and a symbol of good fortune, happiness and family harmony and fertility. The five children represent the five elements - Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood - and their presence is good feng shui to keep the home balanced and in harmony. Legends say that the laughing Buddha loved kids and was usually surrounded by children. He gave them snacks or sweets from his sack.
This Laughing Buddha, also known as the "Buddha of Wealth," is not only a symbol of prosperity but also a decorative masterpiece. It adds a touch of charm and positivity to any space, making it a perfect decorative piece for homes, restaurants, and businesses.
Japanese pronounce Budai as Hotei, which means glutton or cloth sack. As the saying goes and what people believe, one can attract wealth and good luck by rubbing the belly of the Laughing Buddha.
