Vintage chrome cased Eterna-Matic Centenaire wristwatch - working. In 1948, Eterna advanced self-winding watch technology with the development of the Eterna-matic automatic movement. The use of five strategically placed ball bearings made the movement very efficient and significantly reduced friction and resistance on the oscillating weight that wound the mainspring. This reduced the wear and tear on internal parts, increasing the watch’s accuracy and useful life. It also gave the watch its destinctive logo. This vintage Swiss manufactured watch dates back to c1960. The watch has a automatic movement and is keeping accurate time, as you would expect from a high quality brand such as Eterna. The original silver/ cream dial has a bit of fading, but is otherwise in good working condition. Glass is a bit scratched. Great buy for the collector.
