Vintage Copeland Spode blue "Byron" tea set. This lovely vintage tea set consists of:
- Copeland Spode blue "Byron" teapot with lid - 1930. This old teapot is impressed 30, indicating that it was produced in 1930. It is blue and white, and depicts 3 men helping a man who appears to have fallen off his horse. The teapot and lid are bordered with vines. It has the blue Copeland Spode backstamp as well as the date impression. It is large measuring 25cm from spout to handle and stands 15cm high.
- Copeland Spode blue "Byron" jug - 1936. This old jug is impressed 36, indicating that it was produced in 1936. It is blue and white, and depicts 3 women having a picnic along with their dog. The jug is bordered with vines. It has the blue Copeland Spode backstamp as well as the date impression, and stands 15cm high.
- Vintage Copeland Spode blue "Byron" sugar basin. This old sugar basin does not have a date impression, but I would date it to the 1930s. It is blue and white, a mother and her child. The basin is bordered with vines. It has the blue Copeland Spode backstamp. It stands 7.5cm high and is 11.5cm in diameter.
- 3 Copeland Spode blue "Byron" tea trios - 1951. Although the cup and cake plates are not date impressed, the saucer is impressed 51 indicating that they was produced in 1951. The trios are blue and white with different scenes on the items, and are bordered with vines. The cup measures 7cm (h) x 9cm (diameter), the saucer 14.5cm (diameter) and the cake plate 17cm (diameter).
Except for 1 saucer with a small rim chip, the other items are in good condition with no chips or cracks. The items do have some age crazing. Great buy - good quality tea set.
