Description: Vintage Corning Vision Ware 2.5L Casserole Dish.
The amber glass cookware is part of the "Visions" or "Visionware" line, a type of glass-ceramic cookware known for its durability and resistance to temperature changes. The brand was developed by Corning Glass. This type of cookware, specifically the amber line, was popular and widely available starting around the 1970s. Production occurred in various locations, with specific items or lines being made in France or the USA.
Made from a transparent material called Pyroceram, a type of glass-ceramic. Highly resistant to thermal shock, allowing it to go from freezer to stove top without breaking. Can be used on gas, electric, and ceramic stovetops, as well as in conventional and microwave ovens. Non-reactive material that does not contain lead or other harmful metals, making it a safe choice for cooking. The lid is also made of Pyroceram and can be flipped over for use as a cooking surface or serving dish.
Made in France, 1970s.
Visible Flaws: Minor age-related wear. No damages to the pot, however the lid does have 2 small chips, per images.
