Description: Vintage Corning Ware Blue Cornflower 10-Cup Percolator - Model P-149
BRAND NOTICE: Selling online nationwide under our official brand name. Inventory is updated daily and stock availability depends entirely on current store inventory across platforms.
Pristine 10-cup Corning Ware coffee percolator. Featuring the internationally recognized, iconic blue cornflower motif screen-printed crisp against a milk-white background, this model P-149 is constructed from Pyrocerama space-age glass-ceramic material engineered to withstand extreme thermal shock without cracking or staining. The stove-top vessel is completed by a mirror-polished stainless steel collar assembly and a robust, ergonomic black Bakelite handle. Fully outfitted with its original internal brewing components, this complete and functional design icon looks spectacular on active kitchen stoves, rustic open shelving layouts, or mid-century breakfast sideboards.
Corning Ware was introduced by Corning Glass Works in New York in 1958, utilizing a proprietary crystalline ceramic material originally developed for rocket nose cones to endure rapid atmospheric temperature fluctuations. The "Blue Cornflower" pattern, designed by local artist Carle Oberschneider, became the initial trademark design for the brand, remaining an enduring global symbol of mid-century domestic design heritage.
Made in the US, 1960s-1970s making this pot 50+ years old.
Did you know? Factual inspection of this authentic 10-cup model assembly verifies that it is entirely complete and correct without requiring any extra upper collar extension rings or spacer gaskets on top of the inner metal filter insert. Unlike variant sizes that rely on multi-piece ring stacks, this specific historical P-149 variant seats its clean aluminium pump basket flush beneath the glass lock lid knob, ensuring a perfect, continuous steam-percolation seal during stove-top brewing.
Approximate Dimensions: Height 25cm, Length 23cm, Diameter 15cm.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with zero structural damage Visible Flaws: Impeccably preserved structural state; the Pyroceram body is clean, bright white, and entirely free from chips, cracks, flea bites, or stove-scorch discoloration, the internal stainless steel pump stem and filter basket are complete, unbent, and correct for this specific 10-cup model, and the unmarked outer underside shows only superficial shelf friction wear.
