Vintage, Crane Cigarette Box- Lidded, Metal Box with Embossed Design- Wood Lined- Cranes, ect.

A Blissful Find - is a vintage, cigarette box ( 9cm x 8cm x 4cm) with a lovely, embossed crane design on the lid. This piece is made out of silver toned metal that has a great, vintage patina and has a wooden lining on the inside of the box. The image at the top has a ton of details like feathers on the birds, leaves on the bamboo and grass in the background. The front and back sides have stylized country scenes and it is marked, Made in Japan, on the bottom. I believe this piece was made in the 1940s or 50s for the export market of Japan. It was originally used to hold cigarettes but could be used for jewelry or other trinkets. It is in very good condition and it has a lot of tarnish and discoloration on the metal from age but this gives it a wonderful, vintage patina. It still opens easily and closes evenly. please look at pictures provided since the item is sold as is.
