DESCRIPTION:
A semi-matte glazed ivory china part tea set, decorated with grey transfer-printed Nordic scenes of
leaping deer stags and fir trees, with hand-painted red detail and rims. The design was introduced in
1955 and was based on a mural in the Crown Devon factory showroom, which was razed in a fire in 1951.
Set comprises: 5 X cups, 5 X saucers, 6 X side plates, 1 X milk jug, 1 X sugar bowl and 1 X cake plate.
MARKS:
Stockholm, Crown Devon, Fielding's, Made in England and a red hand written T on most items.
CONDITION:
No chips or cracks, with fine crazing to one saucer and sugar bowl, stilt (cock spur) marks to plates.
DIMENSIONS:
Cups approximately 8.5cm diameter X 6.5cm height, saucers 14cm X 1.5cm, tea plates 17.5cm X 1.5cm,
milk jug 9cm X 9cm, sugar bowl 12cm X 6.5cm and cake plate 23cm X 2cm.
