Info: A uniquely decorated fine bone chine plate, hand painted and hand crafted by Crown Staffordshire.
A Limited Edition plate signed by J A Bailey.
Excellent quality and finely crafted. A "Peace Rose" in relief on the plate that is superbly finished.
Crown Staffordshire first began producing pottery in 1833 when the Green Family started production at the Minerva works, Stoke-on-Trent.
The Crown Staffordshire name came into being in 1903. Wedgwood became the owner of the Pottery in 1974 and the Crown Staffordshire name was discontinued in 1985 when Coalport production was moved to the Minerva works at that time.
(The EST 1801 on the stamp refers to the Minerva works pottery that started production in 1801.)
Joseph A Bailey was well-known for painting flower patterns and of all tehdesigners employed by Crown staffordshire over the years Bailey's work is teh most sought after.
Designs painted by Bailey were done with a particular style and flourish.
The large pink rose, sometimes referred to as a cabbage rose, is particularly characteristic of Baileys work.
Condition: Very Good, no cracks or chips, the decor and gold trim is in very good condition, a finely produced and cared for plate.
