VINTAGE DIAMOND CLUSTER RING
IN 9CT YELLOW GOLD. 375. WELL HALLMARKED.
This pretty diamond cluster ring is set in 9ct yellow gold. The small ring head holds a 2mm round-cut diamond claw-set in the centre of a 'geometric' floral design. The ring head sits on extended claws, giving an almost protea-like feel to it. The shank is very solid - narrow at the bottom and heavy at the shoulders into which the ring head has been placed. A horizontal 'V' design is etched into the shoulders with a 1 mm round-cut diamond claw set within the triangle formed by the 'V'. This ring bears the hallmarks '375' for 9ct yellow gold, the Sheffield Assay stamp, the jeweller's signature and 'DIA 0.10' indicating authenticated diamonds. Modern, geometric lines make this ring unusual. It is definitely a vintage piece and bears signs of its vintage history with buff marks on the shank. It's a solid piece and although was probably originally designed, and worn, as an engagement ring, would make an interesting vintage stacking ring.
