VINTAGE DIAMOND SOLITAIRE PLATINUM AND 18CT YELLOW GOLD RING COLLECTABLE VINTAGE ENGLISH - H, G & S

VINTAGE DIAMOND SOLITAIRE RING CRAFTED IN PLATINUM AND 18CT YELLOW GOLD. 

This dainty vintage very collectable piece features a single round-faceted diamond bezel set in 18ct platinum, which covers the head and shoulders; the rest of the ring is 18ct yellow gold. The ring head measures 4mm in diameter, and sits 4mm above the finger. The shank is slender, smoothly polished 9ct yellow gold. The  jeweller's signature, and the word 'Plat' indicating platinum appears. The ring weighs 2,11 grams. No date mark on it but the font style, the use of platinum and 18carat gold as well as the ring head design throws it far back into English jewellery history. It was most likely an engagement ring in its previous life. The jeweller signature is Henry, Griffith & Sons, a jeweller that was established in Birmingham in 1850 before moving to Leamington after the first World War. H, G & S was closed in 1982. A dainty collectable piece of jewellery.
