This vintage butter dish by Emess is crafted in EPNS (Electro-Plated Nickel Silver) and still retains its original pressed glass liner with a starburst base. The silver plating shows no signs of wear, and the liner is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
The dish measures 13 cm in diameter and 6 cm high with the lid in place. The removable glass liner measures 9 cm in diameter and 2 cm high, making it practical for serving butter or condiments and easy to clean. Overall, the piece is in very good vintage condition.
The Emess mark was originally used by an English silverware brand until the 1960s and was later adopted by a South African manufacturer into the 1970s. These pieces are now sought after for their mid-century charm and quality craftsmanship.
