This is a beautiful vintage enamelware wash set, consisting of a large jug (ewer/pitcher) and matching basin. These sets were traditionally used in homes before the days of indoor plumbing, placed on a washstand in the bedroom or guestroom.

Dates to approximately the 1930s1950s.

Classic enamelware design with brown and cream tones and a large rose motif.

A wonderful example of mid-century enamelware that was common across Europe and South Africa.

Made of metal with enamel coating.

The enamel finish was valued for durability, easy cleaning, and its decorative appeal.

Condition

Shows expected signs of age and use, with chipping and rust where enamel has worn away (mainly on rims).
