The Yard-O-Led Pencil Company was founded in 1934 by a Mr Brenner to produce his unique patent for propelling pencils which contained twelve three inch leads (that is to say, 36 inches or a yard of lead). Hallmarks : J.M. & Co (Johnson Matthey & Co.) , Lion Passant (British Sterling Silver .925), R (1952), Made in England, Patent No. 422767 This particular model has a brass nozzle (where the lead comes out), and a clip which is riveted to the body. What makes these pencils so outstanding is the fine workmanship in their production.
Please Note : General age related wear. The cone seems to have separated from the drive tube, doesn't seem to affect the functioning of the pencil at all.
