 ELEGANT VINTAGE 9CT YELLOW AND WHITE GOLD FRINGE DESIGN PENDANT NECKLACE. 375. WELL HALLMARKED.

This striking piece is beautifully made. Featuring a combination of 9ct yellow and white gold, the necklace has been crafted with each element a geometric, stylised shape, interlocking at the top with openwork creating a pattern. The tapered bottom part ends in a blunt edge. The highly polished gold fringe elements alternate in colour which adds sparkle and patterning. The pendant part measures 10cm across x 18mm down, and the necklace in total (the chain part is created by slim oval open links in 9ct yellow gold), measures 44.5cm long. The piece weighs 7,25 grams, light enough to wear without feeling encumbered but heavy enough to ensure that it sits flat against the chest. The piece features a number of hallmarks: 375 indicating 9ct gold, the jeweller's signature, the date 2004 and the Birmingham Assay mark. I did in fact buy it in Birmingham in the Jewellery Quarter of England from an antique and vintage jeweller. It is in excellent condition, with only light buff marks in keeping with its age. Its a lovely classic vintage piece, easy to wear and timeless in design.
