ENGLISH HALLMARKED 9CT YELLOW GOLD VINTAGE CHEVRON RING WITH SAPPHIRES AND DIAMONDS. 375

This vintage piece was obtained from a favourite vintage dealer in Birmingham. Crafted in 9ct yellow gold, the design is a chevron, featuring 5 x 2.5mm diameter round-faceted, deep, dark blue sapphires, interspersed with two small round cut diamonds (totalling 0.10 carats) claw set between each sapphire. The ring head measures 5mm long x 18mm across, and is a seriously solid piece with the shank a full 2mm thick behind the ring head, narrowing somewhat down the shoulders, with some groove detailing stretching down the shoulders. The piece weighs 3.15 grams and bears a number of hallmarks: 375 indicating 9ct gold, the Birmingham Assay mark, the date 1994, the jeweller's signature and 'DIA' indicating genuine authenticated diamonds, and 0,10 indicating the carats of the diamonds. A lovely, elegant piece.
