VINTAGE ENGLISH SQUARE CUSHION-CUT CHROME DIOPSIDE 9CT YELLOW GOLD RING. STRONG NATURAL COLOURS

GORGEOUS RUSSIAN-MINED CHROME DIOXIDE 9CT YELLOW GOLD RING. 375. WELL-HALLMARKED

 This vintage piece features a gorgeous square cushion-cut natural Russian chrome diopside in a ring crafted in 9ct yellow gold. The classic chrome diopside deep green colour is enhanced by the polished yellow gold, and the openwork around the gemstone allows the light to show off the gemstone .  The shank is simple polished gold, narrow at the back and thickening  vertically to a cathedral band on either side of the gemstone.  The  ring head measures 7mm long x 5mm wide and  weighs 2,19 grams. I obtained the piece from a vintage jeweller in the Jewellery Quarter Birmingham, England, and the ring bears a number of hallmarks: the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold, the jeweller's signature, the date mark for 2006 and the Birmingham Assay mark. It is excellent condition with only light buff marks. Simple and elegant with beautiful natural colours.
