decorated with a sepia brown transfer-printed English landscape scene.
MARKS:
"Countryside", Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall) Ltd., Unicorn, England, Trade
Mark, Founded in 1835, Genuine Hand Engraving, Decorated Underglaze,
Detergent and Acid Resisting Colours and Made in England.
WEDGWOOD:
Wedgwood & Co. Ltd. of Tunstall, Staffordshire was established in 1860 by
Enoch Wedgwood who made earthenware and stone china at the Unicorn Pottery.
This firm should not be confused with Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd., established
in 1759, who made creamware and jasperware at Burslem, Etruria and Barlaston.
CONDITION:
General wear and some staining commensurate with age and utilitarian use.
