VINTAGE ITALIAN WOODEN JEWELLERY BOX
Exquisite inlay work - Italian craftsmanship
This wooden box was hand crafted in Italy and features some amazing wood inlay work, not only on the lid, but on all four sides as well.
The interior is lined in a pink material and padded on the bottom. On some edges it is just beginning to come loose and may need a bit of glue.
The box is equipped with a lock, but unfortunately the key is no longer with us. The lock is however a standard one and a key could easily be made to fit.
On the bottom of the box there is some delamination of the wood, possibly where someone tried to attach feet, but again this can easily be rectified by gluing on a layer of velvet or similar material.
On the whole the box is in good condition with only a slight mark here and there on the lid and no other damage than that mentioned.
Dimensions are 17.5cm x 13cm x 5cm deep.
On the bottom of the box, stamped in faded ink: "Made in Italy".
A great item to use as is or spend a little time on to restore to perfect condition.
