This is a very nice example of a 3rd Pattern from the Post WW2 area. The condition is very good with a unique marking
which is not as common as the usual 3rd patterns. There is a inscription "MADE IN ENGLAND" horizontal on the heel of
the hilt as opposed to the broad arrow found on the Sheffield Nowill & Son knives. On the opposite side of the heel of the
hilt is the No. 2 stamped. This refers to the mould used to cast the hilt. The pommel nut is rounded and the blade has
a few scratches on the one side towards the tip of the blade. The blade is not sharpened . The tip is slightly in dented.
The scabbard is the original which came with the dagger, metal tip and marked "MADE IN ENGLAND" in the leather.
The retaining elastic is attached but broken through wear as you can see on the pic.
