VINTAGE FRANCIS BARKER M73 MILITARY COMPASS

Good, perfectly working condition
Widely considered the best military compass in the world

The compass is in a very good and perfectly working condition with minor wear to the paint.
Made by Francis Barker in the UK for military use, it is graduated in mils (not degrees).
It is a prismatic compass, liquid filled, sapphire jeweled and widely considered the best military compass ever made.
It is made mainly of solid brass, painted black and measures 6cm in diameter.
The glass and the mother of pearl dial is in perfect condition, hardly a scratch and the compass is complete.
The prism is clear and readings easily visible.
The cover doesn't close perfectly but this could be an easy fix, perhaps just an adjustment of the hinge needed .
The original leather case is included but it is quite worn and has some broken straps.
The exact age is not known. Please see images for markings.
