This dainty tray with its galleried rimmed silver metal band has a metal base on the outside and the inner side is roses under glass.
The base is stamped clearly GERMANY and it was received as a wedding gift in 1945.
It measures 187mm x 133mm and the rim is 22mm high making it a good size for serving cheese or other small items
such as cordials or as a drinks tray for those small sherry or port glasses which normally get lost on a bigger tray.
The next image is an example of how pretty the tray looks when being used as a drinks server.
NB: The glasses are not being sold with this item.
Condition: There is a small dent to the rim in one spot and there is some moisture staining to the roses from liquid
that must have spilled onto the tray and leaked past the rimmed edge underneath the glass but it is still pretty and
most presentable.
According to research I found on a reputable antiques site, these were made to serve iced tea and lemonade when those
drinks were popularized by the invention of the refrigerator.
