This a vintage Gillette Aristocrat #58 razor whicch was made around 1958. Made in England, this is a special edition Nickel plated, twist to open razor.
As you can see from the pictures, this razor in fantastic condition. The nickel plating shines brilliantly. The knurling pattern on the handle is excellent, and the twist to open mechanism is working perfectly. I would give this razor an overall condition rating of 9 /10. (There are some almost invisible scuff marks along the edge of one of the guard doors). The entire razor has been cleaned, oiled, and polished and buffed. It is ready to shave - just slot in a blade :)
The inner base plate has the following: BRIT PAT. 694 093.
The razor came in a distinctive cherry red leather coverred case, with a velvet lined base and satin lined top cover. The case is in good condition apart form the glue stain on the top cover (which is common in these models). The razor comes with the original cardboard shipping sleeve as well.
This is a classic piece of shaving history, and it's safe to say that they don't make them like this anymore.
