Vintage Gillette Slim Twist Shaving Set 1974 Time Capsule Lot

Up for auction is a magnificent, complete "New Old Stock" mid-century shaving time capsule in remarkable, unused vintage condition. The center piece of this unified lot is a pristine British-made Gillette Slim Twist double-edge safety razor, explicitly stamped with the U-4 date code on the base plate, indicating it was manufactured in England during the fourth quarter of 1974. The nickel plating across the doors and safety guard bars is entirely flawless with zero pitting, rusting, or plating loss, and the mechanics open seamlessly via the smooth twist-to-open handle. The matching cream-colored plastic travel container is clearly stamped "Made in England" and securely holds the razor alongside a completely unused, period-correct sterilized natural-bristle shaving brush featuring its original factory health stamps on the base. Completing this rare collector's set is an unopened vintage Gillette Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack containing 10+1 free blades and the incredibly scarce original, unspent tallow shaving soap puck. The razor case/holder fully marked does show bit of fade which is notable for its age. Finding an entire, matching grooming kit from this era preserved together with all its accompanying components is exceptionally rare on the South African market, making this an incredible turnkey acquisition for serious wet-shaving collectors or historical display enthusiasts.
