IN THE TOWN OF GRENCHEN IN SWITZERLAND, 2 BROTHERS ADOLF AND ALFRED KURTH STARTED PRODUCING HIGH QUALITY WATCH MOVEMENTS. THEY LAUNCHED THE BRAND NAME GRANA WHICH CARRIED ON TILL 1948 AND THEN BECAME CERTINA WHICH IS STILL HIGHLY RESPECTED AND STILL GOING TO THIS VERY DAY. GRANA WON AWARDS IN 1910 AND 1914 FOR THERE FINE WATCHES. THIS FINE VINTAGE PIECE HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED AND NEW CRYSTAL, HANDS, WINDER AND STRAP FITTED. MY TAKE IS THAT THIS IS FROM THE 30,S-40,S WAS MAYBE USED IN THE 2ND WORLD WAR AS GRANA SUPPLIED WATCHES TO THE GERMAN MILITARY.
HAS A KF304 MOVEMENT AND HAS 16 JEWELS WITH INCABLOC TYPE SHOCK ABSORBER, 16 IS VERY UNUSUAL AND MEASURES 30MM IN DIAMETER, IS SIGNED ON DIAL AND MOVEMENT. 1946 VINTAGE GRANA ADS.
