In 1937, Jac Jacobsen, the founder of Luxo, invented the Luxo L-1 lamp, which was the inspiration for the 1986 animated short film, Luxo Jr., by Pixal Animation Studios. The short subsequently became the subject of a lawsuit from Luxo.
This vintage Luxo L-1 adjustable grey steel lamp has a base which rotates 360 degrees and the lamp head rotates 180 degrees to point the light upwards or downwards. The lamp extends to a height of 103 cm and the diameter of the base is 23 cm. It takes conventional bulbs or LED bulbs. The original stamp is near the base of the lamp. U.S. Pat No. 2787434.
