This is a set of six vintage porcelain rose place holders, Each piece is hand-painted and meticulously crafted to resemble a detailed rose with green leaves. A small, subtle slot is integrated into each rose to hold a name card or small label.
The hand-painted finish gives each rose a unique character, with slight variations in color and brushwork adding to their individual appeal.
The set includes six roses in an assortment of colours:
Two Pink Roses: Both are in excellent condition.
Two Blue Roses: Both are in excellent condition.
Two Yellow Roses: One yellow rose is in excellent condition, while the other has a very slight chip on one of its petals, as depicted in the images.
Measurements:
Individual Rose: Approximately 4.5cm long x 2.5cm wide x 2cm high
Original Box: 19cm long x 5cm wide x 3cm high
While the exact brand or origin is not definitively marked, the style and craftsmanship are reminiscent of quality porcelain from the mid-20th century. There is an "SJ" visible on the bottoms of some of the roses. The set comes in its original box, which shows some signs of age and wear.
While the particular brand of this set is inconclusive, online listings for similar items from brands like Shafford (Japan) and Capodimonte (Italy) often sell for R250 - R500 for a set of 4 or more, with prices varying based on condition and brand recognition.
