Vintage Hardcastle 141 Rusticated Arched Estate Pipe.

A vintage, quality estate pipe in the bent billiard shape by renowned pipe makers Hardcastle.  Stamped "Special Quality by Hardcastle" and "Made in London, England, 141" to the shank with the Hardcastle logo to the mouthpiece.  Has a removeable "stinger", which is a condensing element of metal placed in the airway. Hot tobacco smoke passes through it, and the cooler condenser is supposed to draw (condense) the moisture on to it, and filter some heavier floating particulates from the air stream.  The pipe is in overall good vintage condition.  Cleaned and sanitized.  Kindly view images above for more detail.

Hardcastle was founded by Edmund Hardcastle in 1906, in London, England. Like many pipe-makers of the time, such as Barling and Sasieni Hardcastle was originally a family-owned business, with its 'family era' coming to an end over the course of the years 1936-1946.

I have on auction a large estate lifelong collection of quality tobacco smoking pipes dating from the 1950's to 1980's.  Apart from 3 or 4 of them (faults mentioned specifically) the condition is good to very good.  The collection has clearly been well-maintained and lovingly cared for.
