Vintage Helmut Koehler 18ct Gold and Diamond Ring

The vintage, designer 18ct yellow gold ring is hand-made, and quite chunky, in the Modernist style. The bezel is set to the centre with a round brilliant-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.75ct; colour H/I; clarity SI. This diamond is enclosed within a concave motif which is embellished with 14 diamonds. There are six diamonds weighing approximately 0.10ct each and eight weighing approximately 0.015ct each making a total of 0.715ct of small diamonds. The small diamonds have approximate colours H to K; clarity SI to I. The shank is somewhat squared to an approximate size 'M'.

The ring is marked "18ct" and with a distinctive German style "H" which stands for Helmut Koehler, a German born goldsmith and jeweller who worked in Cape Town in the 2^nd half of the 20^th Century, approximately 1975 - 1998.
