Hofner 465s acoustic archtop guitar (I think circa 1950s / 1960s). From the information I could source, I understand the top is solid carved spruce. I have described the condition as best I can below. Please ask any questions that you may have, or request more pictures.
Headstock : good condition with a fair amount of finish crazing. The tuners are not original. I think the original tuners would have been on a single strip per side.
Neck : good condition, nice flame in the maple, plenty of life in the frets.
Body : good condition, there is plenty of finish crazing in the lacquer. In my opinion there are no cracks in the top - what I thought may be cracks I am sure are just in the finish. The back almost appears as though it may have been varnished but I am not an expert so cannot say with certainty either way. The pickguard and bracket are unfortunately missing.
The guitar had been fitted with a floating pickup attached to a non orginal pickguard - this had been done before I took ownership of the guitar. A hole had been drilled in the top for a screw to support the pickguard (go figure). There is still the remains of double tape on the body (can be removed but I did not want to use anything in ignorance that may affect the finish).
Hardware : tailpiece is fine, the bridge may not be original - I don't know.
Sound : Guitar sounds great acoustically IMHO.
Playability : great action, guitar plays well
No case is available but I will pack carefully in a polystyrene case which is functional.
Other Comments : Please look at the pictures and ask questions or request specific photograph angles if required. The guitar is sold as is so please ask questions - thanks !
