Vintage! Holland - Delft - Serving Basket with Silver Plated Handle (Chipped)

A gorgeous hand made bonbonniere for serving by the Quo Vadis pottery factory, 1947-1969, in Gouda (hence the letters Q and V). Among the smaller companies in Gouda, it was known for producing higher quality wares; in 1969, it merged with Goedewaagen. It is a hand painted bowl/ plate made in an oval shape. On the back of the handle, a framed word "zilverstad" refers to the Dutch city of Schoonhoven, known as Silver city, due to the large amount of silver smiths and the long tradition.

MATERIAL : White earthenware, Delft blue cobalt paint, clear tin glaze, silver, metal
HALLMARKS / SIGNATURES : "P.S.38/B" , "Delfts" , "Q.V." , "Holland" on plate and "ZILVERSTAD" , "90" on handle
SIZE : 20cm x 16cm x 4.5cm.

Please Note: Chip on surface. Silver plating has rubbed off on handle. General Age Related Tarnishing / Wear.
