Vintage Industrial oval bulkhead light featuring a heavy protective wire cage and a clear glass housing with the brand marking "BEER-LEX".

This fixture is an authentic mid-20th century vintage industrial oval bulkhead light heavily influenced by utilitarian European manufacturing. The term "bulkhead light" originates from early 19th-Century shipbuilding. Bulkheads are the upright internal walls inside a ship's hull that section off compartments to stop flooding. Because these below-deck spaces were cramped, we, and hazardous, shipbuilders developed low-profile, surface-mounted lights wrapped in protective metal cages. By 1940's through the 1960's, this nautical blueprint was heavily adopted for land-based industrial infrastructure.  The were mass produced for Mining operations, Railway Corridors and Chemical plants.
