VINTAGE INSTRUMENT, The Foxboro Co, USA

Up for auction is this vintage instrument made by The Foxboro Co., Massachusetts. Very solid metal casing. I have no clue what this is (perhaps a timer?) or how to test it, so it as sold as is. Diameter is 13 cm, weight is over 1 kg. Pictures are of the actual item up for auction, please take a close look at them since they form an important part of my description.
