VINTAGE JADE INCENSE BURNER (XIANGLU)

Regretably I am selling off my Tibetan and oriental collection. This will be one of my last auctions.

This is the only incense burner in this style in my collection. It is extremely unusual and beautiful. I bought this item as jade.

This piece is intricately crafted in lovely detail. The lid features Kwan Yin, the buddhist Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, & the sides are adorned with dragons & lions.

The base is flanked by three dragons. The fineness of the jade is lovely. I am unsure of the metal used but it may be silver or pewter.

The item has not been cleaned.
