The set bears the maker's mark "M.T.K." on the underside, which stands for Maruto Toki Kaisha, a significant Japanese ceramics manufacturer. Based on the style and stamp, this set was likely produced in the 1950s or 1960s and exported from Japan, a time when Japanese porcelain was highly sought after for its quality and classic designs. The emblem with two animals and the letter "A" is a known mark used by the company.
Gravy Boat (including handle): 19cm x 11cm x 8.5cm (base)
Saucer: 10cm x 11.5cm
The set is in good vintage condition. Please note that the glaze on the inside of the gravy boat shows crazing (small, fine cracks in the surface glaze), as well as some light discolouration and staining, as is common with items of this age. There are no chips or major cracks. The saucer is in excellent condition. Please see the detailed photographs for a full view of the item's condition.
