Presenting the beautiful vintage L.W.&G 9ct gold bronze core "Lagarmic" engraved bangle. Manufactured by the historic British jewelry firm Lawson Ward &Gammage based in Hatton Garden, London.
The "Lagarmic" construction is the specific trade name used for this high-durability design line designed to provide substantial structural strength and lifelong durability compared to solid gold. It consists of a thick, solid outer shell of 9ct yellow gold permanently bonded over a solid bronze metal core. The bangle is designed in a circular structure that opens via a mechanical hinge and secures with a clasp of safety tongue.
Unlike standard rolled gold or flash plating, the gold layer on these metal-core bangles is roughly four times thicker. This makes the exterior behave and wear exactly like solid gold.
Fully solid 9ct gold bangles of this size are prone to denting, crushing or warping during everyday wear. The bronze core was explicitly engineered to provide structural strength, enabling these pieces to be sold with a warranty of 20 years and longer structural warranties.
The bangle features intricate, machine-engraved floral, scrollwork, patterns on the front face whilst the back half remains smooth and polished.
