Vintage Large Metal Mineshaft Functional Scale Model.

A large metal model of a mineshaft headgear (or headframe), which is the structural frame above an underground mine shaft that houses the hoisting equipment. The model is crafted from dark metal rods, accurately mimicking the lattice structure used in real mining operations for strength and stability.

It accurately displays the large hoist wheel (sheave wheel) at the top, around which a cable is looped. This wheel guides the cable that raises and lowers the mine cage or skip.

The lift cage in the middle of the structure, visible with a small figure (like a LEGO-style worker) inside, gives scale and realism to the model.

The sloped bracing and support structures connect the shaft tower to the ground, ensuring the overall integrity of the design.

The pulley system and anchoring mechanisms are at the base, resembling the winding gear used in actual mining operations.  These are fully functional.

This type of model is often used for educational purposes, exhibitions, or as a decorative piece honoring mining heritage. It represents the critical infrastructure of deep-shaft mining, showing how ore and miners are transported between surface and underground levels.
