Up for Sale is a lot of four vintage commemorative medals awarded for open water swimming events in South Africa. These medals are beautifully designed with enamel finishes and represent the vibrant swimming culture of the Highveld from 20+ years ago.

Lot Includes:

Germiston 1200 Swim (1999): A unique, curved medal featuring a white Great Egret in flight.
Germiston 1200 Swim (10th Anniversary): A circular bronze-toned medal featuring a detailed Egyptian Goose and a "10" anniversary marker.
Bronkhorstspruit 1500 (10th Anniversary, 1999): A hexagonal gold-toned medal featuring a swimmer in action and the "10th" anniversary designation.
Ekurhuleni 1200 Swim (2004): A circular medal with a stunning blue and green enameled bird (Starling/Glossy Ibis style) centered in a cutout design.

Item Details:

Era: 1999 2004.
Naming: All four medals are neatly engraved on the reverse with the name "KIRSTEN".
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The enamel work is bright and intact on all pieces. The metal shows a light, authentic patina consistent with age.
Suspension: Two medals feature jump rings for charms/chains, and two feature wide slots for traditional neck ribbons.
