Vintage Marples No. 153 wood carving tool set in original box

Vintage Marples No. 153 wood carving tool set in original box. I would date this old wood carving set to about 1966. The Marples 153 carving tool set is a six piece set with small carving tools, which was marketed as a beginner carving tool set. Each of the carving tools are fitted with a polished finished mahogany handle with the Marples logo. The handles are finished with steel ferrules, and the blades are forged from the best quality cast steel which are accurately ground to a good profiled edge. The set consists of the following tools:

• 1 x 7mm skew chisel
• 1 x 5mm curved vee tool
• 1 x 8mm curved chisel
• 1 x 8mm chisel
• 1 x 6mm straight gouge
• 1 x 9mm curved shallow gouge.

The set is in good condition, and comes in its original box with a Marples "Wood Carving Hints" booklet included. Great buy for your workshop.
