VINTAGE MARQUISE DESIGN SMOKY QUARTZ 9CT GOLD STUD EARRINGS WITH DIAMOND ACCENTS. 375

This unusual vintage pair of earrings feature a marquise cut smoky quartz with a diamond-accented border set in 9ct white gold. The colour of the quartz is a rich chocolate brown; the marquise-faceting emphasises the different browns created by the prisms. The icy sparkle of the spiky diamond ruff is a lovely counterpoint to the smoky quartz. The earrings bear the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold, each measuring 11mm wide x 19mm long, and weighing 1.42 grams. They are studs, and they sit elegantly on the ear-lobe. A little larger than usual studs, the marquise design shape brings them down below the lobe making them nice and noticeable but still quietly elegant. They are vintage English and in excellent condition.  A classic, simple and elegant accessory with unusual colouring.
