ON AUCTION IS A VINTAGE BROOCH WITH AN ORNATE OPEN SCROLL WORK FILIGREE DESIGN.
FEATURING A CENTRAL BLUE STONE OR RHINESTONE DESIGNED TO LOOK LIKE TURQUOISE. THE PROMINENT OVAL-SHAPED, BLUE STONE DISPLAYS DARK VEINING OR A MATRIX, A COMMON FEATURE IN NATURAL TURQUOISE, BUT IN MANY SIMILAR VINTAGE PIECES IT IS A HIGH-QUALITY GLASS OR FAUX STONE IMITATION.
The design is highly ornate, featuring elaborate open scrollwork (filigree style) surrounding the central stone.
THE METAL HAS NO MARKINGS AND APPEARS TO BE A BASE METAL WITH A SILVER-TONED FINISH, ALMOST PEWTER-COLOURED WITH A VINTAGE PATINA.
