Description: Matching pair vintage 1960's Oriental mid-century decorative figurines depicting a traditional Chinese Emperor and Empress (or Court Maiden). These are high-quality, heavy moulded resin statues designed by the Oriental Vintage Line (OVL) to perfectly replicate the intricate detail, weight, and texture of hand-carved antique ivory, bone, or boxwood sculptures. Both pieces feature an incised, authentic interlocking "OVL" artist monogram mark cast into the drapery, confirming their origin as genuine mid-century collectible export items. The statues are finished with a beautiful dark amber/brown antiquing wash glaze that accentuates the details of the flowing robes, the male figure's scroll/sceptre, and the female figure's fan and prayer beads.
