Vintage Oriental Wood Carved Chess Board/Case (Folding with Draws)

This lovely, unusual, vintage wooden folding chess board/case is very well made, with two red velvet lined draws, one on each end. The top features sixty-four black and white squares, with all the white squares, beautifully decorated in colourful oriental scenes. The frame of the board, case and draws are all in wood with brass hinges, mounts and handles, with floral decoration engraved on the handle plates, and the board frame has wonderful hand carved detail, with dragons around the wide border. The case when open measures 51cm x 49cm x 8,5cm, when closed or folded measures 49cm x 25cm x 17cm, and weighs 2,67kg.
