Vintage PHR cast iron countertop corkscrew

Vintage PHR cast iron countertop corkscrew. I would date this old countertop corkscrew to the 1930/40s. This PHR counter top corkscrew has a similar structure to the more well-known HEKTOR or HELIOS models, but is much less common than these corkscrews. It has a cast iron housing, a polished clamping device and a solid beech wood crank knob. It fastens to the bar top, and the corkscrew is first screwed into the cork of the wine bottle and then pulled out. The housing is 18.5cm in length, and stands 12.5cm above the bar top which clamped. It is in good working condition for its age - has some age related plate wear. Great buy for your bar.
