No string, needs a replacement string and new arrows which can be purchased at any Gun Shop.The arrows in the box are not the original plastic arrows. These are completely aluminum and the head screws off.The flights can be reattached with glue. These arrows are not toys.

It is best to purchase a lot of arrows and strings at a time. The strings wear out and a lot the arrows get lost. They travel very fast and you need to keep an eye on which direction they go in, or you will be looking for arrows for hours.

Using a Pistol Crossbow is very addictive and you can land up shooting with it for hours.
