VINTAGE POSTCARDS (17 UNUSED) - IMAGES OF PRAGUE (PRE-1945).

PRAGUE WAS THE MAIN CITY OF THE GERMAN PROTECTORATE OF BOHEMIA & MORAVIA. ON 14 FEBRUARY 1945 THE AMERICANS CARRIED OUT AN AIR RAID ON PRAGUE. MANY HISTORICAL SITES WERE DESTROYED. AMERICAN PILOTS CLAIMED AFTERWARDS THAT THE ATTACK WAS THE UNFORTUNATE RESULT OF A NAVIGATION MISTAKE. AT THAT STAGE THE MASSIVE BOMBING OF DRESDEN, 120km AWAY WAS UNDERWAY. THESE CARDS ARE IMAGES OF THE CITY AS IT WAS BEFORE THE UNFORTUNATE BOMBING.
