Description: Vintage Pressed Glass Fruit Bowl in the Candlewick Pattern.
So, I am running with a cake theme this week on my Instagram page, and I have decided that even though this is a vintage berry bowl... It will really make your shop bought milk tart stand out if you use this bowl as a cover instead .
This bowl is a vintage pressed glass serving dish. The design is often associated with the Art Deco period, specifically Edwardian or early 20th-century glassware.
The lack of markings is common for this type of glassware and helps narrow it down to being mid-range American or British pressed glass from the early to mid-20th century.
Identification and Manufacturer
Who made it: The design is a variation of the "Candlewick" style by Imperial Glass (produced between 1936 and 1984), characterized by the beaded or "bubble" rim. The specific raised floral motifs (called "prunts") on the body are very similar to the "Blackberry Prunt" pattern by Davidson Glass, a British company that produced these styles in the 1920s and 30s. Most likely manufactured in Ohio, USA (if Imperial) or Gateshead, England (if Davidson).
Original use based on its shape and size suggest it was used as a berry bowl, fruit bowl, or bon-bon dish for serving sweets or snacks.
Made in either the US or England, 1920s-1940s.
Visible Flaws: Minor age-related wear.
